Lisa Ginter is Chief Executive Officer for CommunityAmerica, responsible for the strategic vision and long-term direction of the Credit Union.
Lisa joined CommunityAmerica in 1995 and during her tenure has overseen nearly every function of the credit union including sales, operations, marketing, business development, Information Services, Mortgage and Electronic Services. After graduating from Rockhurst University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, Lisa was introduced to the industry working with a regional CPA firm auditing credit unions. She has held executive level positions, to include CFO and President, of various asset-sized financial institutions.
Lisa earned the designation of Certified Chief Executive Officer (CCE) from the Credit Union Executives Society, and she’s a graduate of the Advanced Leadership Institute at Harvard Business School. She was selected as a “Women Who Mean Business” honoree by the Kansas City Business Journal and one of KC Magazine’s “Influential Women.”
In 2010, Lisa co-founded the Women’s Association of Credit Union Leaders (WACUL) to provide opportunities for women in credit union leadership to network and develop skills. Following the success of WACUL, she helped launch Women2Women, an organization of women executives at $1 billion-plus credit unions, whose mission is to learn from each other and exchange best practices. She currently serves as Board Co-Chair of the Kansas City Go Red for Women Campaign, on the Board of the Directors for the Kansas City Area Development Council, the Board of Directors and Governmental Affairs Committee for the Missouri Credit Union Association (MCUA), the Board of Directors for the Derek Thomas “Defend the Dream” Foundation and previously served on both the Children’s Mercy Family Health Partners Board of Directors and the Community Depository Institutions Advisory Council for the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City.
Lisa and her husband Barry live in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. A native of Independence, she continues to be active in the Jackson County community where she was raised. Lisa is a sports and interior design enthusiast who enjoys spending her free time with her family, including three children, nine brothers and sisters and their extended families. High on her list of favorite activities you’ll find decorating for the holidays and enjoying her mother’s authentic Italian cooking.
