Stephane “Steph” Scupham is the Manager of the Kansas City Film + Media Office at Visit KC and her industry role is Film Commissioner of Kansas City.
Steph has experience as a TV show creator, commercial and corporate producer/director, workshop facilitator, audio mixer, editor, talent agent, project manager and account manager.
Steph has worked for advertising agencies, production companies, and TV stations as well as her own businesses.
She has lent her passion for the arts to KCPT, Kansas City’s local PBS station, co-hosting uniquely Kansas City and Behind the Scenes of Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts as well as helping to host Pledge seasonally.
Some fun facts - she was the voice of Barbie for a Hallmark card and she loves to play a game of catch, keeping a glove and ball in her car at all times “because you never know.”
Stephane is passionate about supporting and promoting the production industry. She is currently an advisor to the Kansas City Film Society and serves as a board member of Missouri Motion Media Association and the KC Arts Industry Sector Council. She’s been involved in Kansas City FilmFest, and for four years was a regional Emmy judge. Steph is also a part of the Emerging Media Advisory Board at JCCC. She has been involved with the JCCC media program and film festival since 2001, and in that time has become known for writing and sending constructive advice to young filmmakers - encouraging them to keep creating and honoring the process of the art of digital storytelling. She is passionate about helping people realize their highest creative potential and spreading a positive vision of a thriving Kansas City production industry and advocating for the vision's reality.
