DT | The Art and Science of Performance - 11:45 am
It has been said that performance equals potential minus interference. So what is interference and how does it happen? What are the obstacles that block our path from idea to implementation? In this seminar, Nibal details the keys to achieving long term, sustainable success in your personal and professional endeavors. She will outline the art (who) and the science (how) of performance and how to leverage both sides of that equation to accomplish goals and reach desired outcomes.
In this workshop you will learn:
- The importance of emotional intelligence in leadership performance
- Mindset and the role of failure, blame and risk
- The connection between self-awareness and effective management
- The power of process and daily discipline
- Understanding and implementing change
Nibal was born and raised in Kuwait to Palestinian Christian parents. She spent the first 13 years of her life in the Middle East until her family immigrated to America and she landed in Houston, Texas. She likes to think of herself as a Palestinian-Texan – it’s her own little category that the census bureau has yet to acknowledge!
Nibal attended Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas where she studied Psychology and Political Science. She spent the first half of her career in the non-profit sector working with organizations serving low income communities across the city of Nashville. Nibal spent the next half of her career working with technology start ups to help them build the foundation needed to grow and succeed in a competitive and fast moving industry. As a project manager for an internet based healthcare education company, she directed a team that built the main application to delivery training to hospitals.
After taking some time off to focus on her growing family, Nibal restarted her career after moving to Overland Park, Kansas in 2010. She is certified as a life and business coach and works with her clients to identify interference and to help them develop plans to overcome their obstacles as they navigate the path from idea to implementation. She loves to teach and speaks to audiences about the importance of having a growth mindset and the role of self talk in achieving success.
