Jerome Powell is the Chair of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System\, who made this statement on November 13\, 2019. \n\n\n\nPlease plan to arrive early for this program to pass through security. All attendees must bring a valid photo ID. \n\n\n\nArrival Information:\n\nThe Bank's visitor lot is located just west of the Bank building and can be accessed by turning left on Wyandotte from Memorial Drive. The visitor lot will be on your left. To access the overflow parking area\, continue on Memorial Drive past Wyandotte\, turning left into the parking lot. When you enter the Bank building\, please present your photo identification to the Law Enforcement Officers stationed in the vestibule and proceed through screening.\n\n \n\n\nSpeaker Bio:\n\n\n\nEsther L. George is president and chief executive officer of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City. She is a member of the Federal Open Market Committee\, which sets U.S. monetary policy. \n\n \n\nShe has more than 30 years of experience in the Federal Reserve\, with her early career primarily focused on regulatory oversight of banks and financial holding companies in seven states. She was directly involved in the banking supervision and discount window lending activities during the banking crisis of the 1980s and post-9/11. During the most recent financial crisis\, she served as the acting director of the Federal Reserve Board's Division of Banking Supervision and Regulation in Washington\, D.C. \n\n \n\nShe has served as President of the Bank since October 2011\, and currently leads the Federal Reserve's efforts to modernize the US payments system.
