In partnership with Rainy Day Books, we will be hosting Rachel Devlin as she talks about her new book, A Girl Stands by the Door. Devlin’s book will be available for purchase courtesy of Rainy Day Books and she will be signing books after the program.
Historian Rachel Devlin uncovered over a dozen unknown or unexamined school desegregation lawsuits filed by girls and their families in the late 1940s. In A Girl Stands at the Door, she argues that Brown v. Board of Education would not have happened without the leadership of young women in early desegregation cases.
