CXS | Creating a Security-Minded Culture - Noon

Active threat events have more than doubled in the past decade.  Laws governing workplace safety are changing as these threats range from domestic to international.  In order to protect employees from this particular type of workplace violence, it has become necessary to create a security minded culture.  Currently, there is no sure way to prevent such an event but there are ways to mitigate their impact.

A Kansas City native, Nikki Burgett has more than 22 years experience in Corporate America.  She attended Oklahoma State University where she graduated with a Bachelors degree in Business Management and minored in International Business.  She has traveled extensively, attending the Burgundy School of Business in Dijon, France and teaching conversational English in La Alberca, Spain.

From 2004-2008, she served as the Family Readiness Liaison for the Wichita Marine Reserves during multiple deployments for Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Iraqi Enduring Freedom. Last year she obtained her Project Management Professional Certification and now serves on the Board of Directors as the Director of Corporate Outreach for PMI of Tulsa.  Nikki also serves the City of Ramona, OK as a Reserve Police Officer. 

As the former Head of Security for ORS Nasco out of Tulsa, OK she recently co-founded Mjolnir (Mule-neer) Consulting & Tactics where she consults on such corporate security topics as Emergency Response Strategies, Written Emergency Action Plans, Active Threat Awareness & Preparedness and Workplace Violence Prevention.  In addition, she also assists in training law enforcement in Multi-Assault Counter Terrorism Action Capabilities or MACTAC.  Nikki is a CLEET Certified Safety & Security Specialist and a one time Phase II Candidate for the FBI.
