ESTEEM: Empowered, Self-Assured, Tenacious, Engaged, Effective, Motivated/Meaningful
Healthy self-esteem is based on our ability to assess ourselves accurately (know ourselves) and still be able to accept and to value ourselves unconditionally. This means being able to realistically acknowledge our strengths and limitations (which is part of being human) and at the same time accepting ourselves as worthy and worthwhile without conditions or reservations.
The one thing we all have in common about self-esteem is this: it is a lifelong process. It started in childhood and continues today. Many people who might seem as though they have positive self-esteem actually don?t. Knowing what healthy self-esteem looks like helps each of us evaluate our own self-esteem and allows us to change patterns that diminish our self-esteem.
Join ESTEEM for six facilitator-led sessions that start with an introduction to what healthy self-esteem is (and isn?t) and then dive specifically into the following segments:
What is Self-Esteem?
Positive Affirmations and Our Inner Voice
Calling Out the Troops
How Our Environment Affects our Self-Esteem
The Difference Between Healthy and Toxic Self-Talk
Coping with Criticism
This SIG is for you if you?ve ever asked yourself if you?re likeable or loveable, if you deserve good things in life, if you?ve ever wondered if you deserve to be happy.
By understanding what self-esteem is and how to enhance yours, you will gain practical knowledge that will empower to use your thoughts to create the life you desire, give you the ability to cope with the challenges of life, and strengthen your confidence to be successful and happy.
