DT | Build Your Brand: Acing Your Interviews with Kim Yates
Session 2 Overview:
Kim led recruiting for P&G at Northwestern's Kellogg Business School for five years. Prior to that, she led interviews for P&G in sales at the University of Missouri. Most recently while at Lee, Kim has hired or promoted a number of people as she built out her team. Through all of that, Kim has learned a lot about what to do and what not to do in interviews. She has seen some of the best and some of the worst. In fact, Kim has plans to write a book about 'How to NOT be a dumbass in your job interview' -- however, she is still exploring the title! Kim will share thoughts on preparing your interview examples, preparing your questions for the interviewer, how to research the company/opportunity, and other basic logistics. Jennifer Niehouse from 'It's So U' will join Kim as part of this presentation to give a brief overview of what do wear (and what not to wear) in your interview.
Speaker Bio:
Kimberly Yates is a strategic executive, brand builder, and inspiration leader. Most recently she has served as the VP of Marketing for Lee Jeans. Kim joined VF Corporation in 2015 to retell the story of the 130-year-old authentic, iconic, American Lee brand. Prior to that, throughout her career at Procter & Gamble, Kim had the good fortune to be able to help build, grow, and even transform such iconic brands as Pampers, Old Spice, Secret, Dolce&Gabbana, and Gucci. Kim is originally from Kansas City, but built her career in Chicago, Cincinnati, and New York City, before returning to KC just 3 ½ years ago. She lives in Overland Park, KS with her husband, high-school freshman twins, and a 17-yr-old dog named Leroy. Kim is passionate about empowering women and serves on the Executive Leadership Team for Go Red for Women. That is also why she is so proud to serve as a speaker at Central Exchange.
