Speaker Bio:
Sami Aaron is the founder of the nonprofit, The Resilient Activist, a community resource for all things environmental and nature-connected in the Kansas City area.
In order to step fully into her environmental stewardship role, she shuttered her company, Software Management Specialists, in 2017 after more than 35 years as a custom database developer.
Her experience as a K-State Extension Master Naturalist has spurred her understanding of the interconnectivity between nature and humanity, with an eye towards restoration and protection of natural areas and the wildlife that inhabits it. She founded the naturalists' team that manages the Pollinator Prairie in Olathe KS, a restored toxic waste superfund site that is now a demonstration area for growing native plants in suburban gardens.
Sami is a yoga and meditation teacher who focuses on the emotional and physical benefits of time spent in nature and the important connection we humans have with the natural world.
