Learn tips for mindful eating with the intention of caring for yourself while noticing and enjoying food and its effects on your body. Barb Marsh, MS, RK, LD, CDE, will discuss how a few changes can make a difference in your current health and reduce the risk of diabetes and heart disease. Chef Peter Beffa with Central Exchange will perform a short cooking demonstration. Lunch will be included. Admission is free.
Barbara Marsh is a nutritionist & Certified Diabetes Educator who is the Coordinator of the Outpatient Nutrition Clinic at Shawnee Mission Medical Center. She works with a variety of clients and assists them in deciphering valid nutrition information from the myriad of sources available to us. Barb believes in creating individualized strategies for each of her clients. Helping people achieve a positive relationship with food is one of her primary goals. She also believes that eating healthy does not need to take hours in the kitchen each day.
Barbara received her Bachelor of Science Degree from Purdue University & a Master's of Dietetics from the University of Kansas.
