DT | Using Emotional Intelligence to Build Relationships for Success - 11:45 a.m.

In Part 4 of the year-long Emotional Intelligence (EQ)  series, join Joni Lindquist, executive coach and financial planner at KHC Wealth Management; to focus on the Social Intelligence components of EQ.  Included in the session is a self-assessment to identify areas of strength and weakness.  Lindquist will then discuss the “ACE” model of Social Intelligence and help you identify practical tips to develop your Social Intelligence and be more effective in building strong relationships in your work and personal life.

What makes a great leader?  Research shows that high Emotional Intelligence (EQ) is the key.  More than 90% of top performing leaders possess high EQ.  The good news is that you can develop EQ skills. How can you build and use your EQ to become a great leader?  In Part 1 of a 3 part series, we will explore the traits and outcomes of differing leadership styles.  Based on the groundbreaking work by Daniel Goleman, we’ll review six core leadership styles.  The best leaders effectively use the right style in the right situation.  This requires the ability to recognize the situation and then apply the right set of EQ skills.  Join us to learn how you can improve your leadership capabilities with EQ.

Joni is a Principal at KHC Wealth Management. The core philosophy at KHC Wealth Management is Making Life Count!® - the art of living well today while planning for one’s future.  We define wealth more broadly – to include both one’s financial capital and human capital.  This includes helping clients to grow, manage and protect their career and financial assets.  Joni is a former corporate executive who now helps others achieve their career and life goals. Joni graduated from Bowling Green State University and earned an MBA from The Ohio State University. She is active in the community, including being a former board member of Central Exchange, former board member at Bishop Sullivan, and is Chair of the Board of Armour Oaks Senior Living Community, the longest running charity in Kansas City.
