Everyone understands the importance of making a positive first impression, but did you know that in the first 7 seconds we encounter someone, we make as many as 10 subconscious judgments about them -- from their approachability to their political affiliation? And today, the availability of multiple, free online sources of information means potential clients, business partners and employers have likely formed an initial impression of you before you even enter the room.
Attendees will gain new, research-based insights into what goes into others' first impressions of them. By highlighting recent career management and social media research, we'll offer real world examples and best practice tips for ensuring consistency between how you want others to see you and how they actually see you, based on the combination of your presence both online and in person. We'll also leave attendees with a 2017 First Impression checklist for things they should check and steps they should take to maximize others' first impressions of them.
