Ruth H. Krywicki, PhD, MS, ASQ-CSSBB, Unit Manager Quality Services of MillerCoors Brewery will discuss “The Art and Science of Brewing”. Making a great tasting beer is art—Making a beer taste great every time you brew it, is science. Although we know beer has been brewed for over 7,000 years, only recently have large scale breweries recognized what it takes to produce consistent high-quality product. Engineering, chemistry, microbiology, environmental science, information technology, logistics—all play huge roles in the brewing industry. Of specific interest is how the various sciences act in synchrony at a large scale brewery to achieve environmental sustainability. This presentation provides a synopsis of what it really takes to bring a great tasting six-pack of suds to your favorite emporium.
