Chris Berry – Senior Vice President & Chief Technology Officer, PeopleAdmin

Join us for our WiSTEMM luncheon speaker, Chris Berry, female CTO from Austin, Texas.  Chris was originally a programmer that has risen through the ranks.  She will review the startup challenges and how her role and the company continue to evolve.  

As technology leader for PeopleAdmin, providers of talent management software, Chris Berry can look back on her career and realize why she has a passion for technology: “I’ve always loved to solve puzzles and problems,” she says. “Turns out technology is a really great way to do that.”

Chris’s first technology job was in 1991 as a computer programmer for the U.S. Air Force, working on Unisys mainframe system programming in COBOL.

Over 20 years later, she has built her career as a leader in a dynamic technology marketplace. Before PeopleAdmin, she served as Vice President of Engineering at Accruent, and prior to that she was Vice President of Software Engineering at SirsiDynix, the leading provider of software solutions to the library industry. She has also served as a consultant to General Dynamics on an Army Battle Command System, and as a project lead for RedPoint Network Systems in Dallas.

Still, she sees one of the greatest industry challenges is helping remove barriers for women who want to be technology leaders. Chris has served as a role model for those women, often attending girls coding camps and women in computing groups. “When you have other role models, you realize you too can pursue your dreams. Because at the end of the day, it’s all about results. And we all have the ability to deliver the same results.” Chris graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas.
