Women with Wisdom: Life-long learning for all ages
Women with Wisdom Special Interest Group helps navigate the needs of a growing and dynamic demographic within CX with relevant programming.
The purpose of this group is to develop a community of like-minded yet diverse women to share wisdom and expertise to encourage life-long learning. We focus on repurposing ourselves and our time, making the most of the next stage of life. CX members gather to hear and learn from life experiences of a different member each month. Join us as we present engaging topics, and share resources in a casual, conversational setting.
If you have “been there, done that” and want to share your experience and lots of laughter, plan to join us at a future lunch.
Mark your calendar now and register for Women with Knowledge the 2nd Wednesday of each month at CX Downtown.
This is the story of a 28 year old woman who wanted a professional job in the male dominated stock brokerage business. She could not find one and began her own business. Maggie will talk about her unconventional ways of marketing and how she has dominated the securities training business in the Midwest since the 1980’s. National training companies have tried to come into the Kansas City market, but Maggie kept them out.
Maggie has been in the securities business since 1979 beginning as an examiner with the NASD (National Association of Securities Dealers, now called FINRA). In 1982, she went to work for a small broker-dealer as Vice President of Compliance and Operations. After the firm failed in the fall of 1984, Maggie did not know what to do with her life and began teaching securities exam preparatory courses until she figured it out. She figured it out is teaching these courses today. Maggie is a middle child in a family of 6 children. Maggie has a BSBA in Finance, a BA in Economics and an MBA.
