Join Central Exchange's Home & Garden Hospitality group at Michele Kiehl’s Fairway, Kansas home. The 1939 home and yard are a continuous work in progress. Michele moved into the home October 2014 but has been a Fairway resident for over 20 years. As current chairman of the City of Fairway Planning Commission she can give us insights into the challenges faced with the tear downs and rebuilds in close-in suburbs.
Come check out the 2014 before move-in pictures, the original title documents, future plans to put in a mud room with patio and the progress of the raised vegetable garden and other plantings. Come for a light dinner, drinks, conversation and opportunity to share suggestions for Michele’s future plans.
Directions:
This home is centrally located and close to the Plaza at 5600 Suwanee Road, Fairway, Kansas 66205. It is south of Shawnee Mission Parkway at Mission Road and to the east of Mission Road. The turn to Suwanee will be the first left on Mission Road if you are coming from North on Mission Road. If you are coming from the south on Mission Road, you will turn right at bottom of hill. If you cross the Mission Road bridge and get to Shawnee Mission Parkway, you missed the turn on to Suwanee and went to far. As you approach the home on Suwanee Road from Mission Road, the home is on the right side of the street, just past the island. The home is white with dark blue shutters and has a dark charcoal gray roof. Park in Michele’s driveway or street parking except where there are “No Parking signs”.
Note, there is construction on Shawnee Mission Parkway west of Mission Road so allow extra time or avoid it all together if you plan to come from the west on Shawnee Mission Parkway.
