OFFSITE | When Violence Hits Home. Shedding Light on Domestic Violence in Kansas City
2018 dawns with an epidemic of domestic violence and we're still blaming the victims. This was the headline in a recent article written by the Kansas City Star and it's time that we talk about the deadly domestic violence situation in Kansas City, when it comes to domestic violence. Over the span of nine days in January, three young women lost their lives. Murdered by their husbands or partners. Join us March 15th at the KCP&L Energy Center and hear from expert panelists, representing five area shelters, speak about this important topic.
Panelist include Vicki Kraft, CEO Newhouse, MaryAnne Metheny, CEO Hope House, LaDora Lattimore, CEO Friends of Yates, Kristin Brumm, Executive Vice-President SAFEHOME, Susan Miller, CEO Rose Brooks, and Dr. Sara Brammer, Director of Family Violence Services at Synergy Services. The panel will be moderated by Tracey Passantino, Founder and CEO of The Foundation4 Domestic Violence Prevention.
