VIRTUAL | AdventHealth Presents: Food, Genes and Your Future
Many people fear that genes are their destiny, that the diabetes, heart disease or cancer that run in the family will one day affect them as well. However, it does not have to be that way. Genetics play a part, but it is our lifestyle and environment that activate genetic response. In other words, even if we carry certain risks, we can “switch them off” or at least “dial them down” with the choices we make – food being the biggest leverage we have. Learn how to use food to focus your efforts in preventing or delaying disease.
In this session you will learn:
- How genes affect your body.
- How your lifestyle and environment activate genetic response.
- How food can prevent or delay disease.
