Cristo Rey Kansas City provides a Catholic, college and career prep education enhanced by an innovative corporate work study program to culturally diverse, ambitious students with economic need. Through the program, students are provided real world job experience and able able to earn nearly 50% of their tuition costs through working in entry level positions at Kansas City-area Sponsor companies. All program sponsors are instrumental in developing the talent pool of the future. Our students learn to work and to develop positive work habits that last a lifetime.

Panelists Bios
Eddie Sanchez was raised in Kansas City, Missouri but was born in El Paso, Texas. He is married, father of two and was in the first graduating class of Cristo Rey Kansas City class of 2010. He later went on to study at Rockhurst University and earned his bachelor’s degree in Corporate Accounting/Finance. He worked in various positions including as an intern to the Kansas City Mayor, Mail Clerk, Cash Control Liaison, Brokerage Client relationship specialist, Property Accountant. He currently works as a Senior Accountant for NorthPoint Development a Real Estate Developer specializing in Industrial warehousing across the US. He serves on the Cristo Rey Board of Directors as an Alumni representative. Passions include finance, investing, and mentoring. His pass time includes reading, working out, and spending time cooking and grilling outside with friends and family. He attributes his successes to always showing up, working hard, and having a positive attitude about all situations no matter how difficult. His ideal vision of the world is to provide financial literacy education to the world in order to eliminate financial need so people can focus on what they want and to fulfill their purpose here on earth. One of his favorite quotes is “when the going gets tough the tough get going”. One of his goals is to help as many people as he can overcome financial difficultly through mentorship and education.
Kisha Bausby has been a key player on JE Dunn’s team since 1994 in the areas of diversity and inclusion, mentoring/development, small business contracting, project requirements, and satisfying the company’s national compliance reporting obligations. Her work with diverse construction trade-partners provides them access and allows them to be competitive, independent, and successful. Most notably, Kisha was instrumental in the development and implementation of JE Dunn’s award-winning Minority Contractor Development Program. She is also responsible for pioneering Professional Women of Color KC. In addition, Kisha is known for leading JE Dunn’s trailblazing and highly-recognized participation in high school internship programs in the Greater Kansas City and Denver Metropolitan Areas. Kisha holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Park University. She, her husband, and 2 sons reside in Lee’s Summit, MO.
Keyli Soto is from Kansas and currently at the University of Kansas studying civil engineering, but looking forward to transferring to Kansas City Kansas community college (KCKCC) for construction management and business this upcoming fall for financial reasons. None of the decisions she has made would have ever happened if she had gotten my high school education elsewhere. Cristo Rey has been the cherry on top of everything she has achieved. Thanks to Cristo Rey, her transition from high school to college was smooth, due to all the college prep opportunities. Cristo Rey has an amazing support system. Thanks to the CWSP program she has found what she loves most, construction. Being placed at JE Dunn all through high school made her realize her love for the field.
Katie Dosenbach is the office and events manager at Travois, a certified B Corporation focused exclusively on promoting housing and economic development for American Indian, Alaska Native and Native Hawaiian communities. She has been with Travois since 2013. In her role, she ensures the Kansas City headquarters runs smoothly and plans staff and community events. She oversees the Cristo Rey Corporate Work Study Program and the Travois First Fridays Indigenous artist exhibition series. Katie has a Bachelor of Arts in political science from the University of Kansas. She lives in the Brookside area with her husband, Mike.
Neal Patterson is a 2020 Cristo Rey graduate and a current student at Rockhurst University. During his time here at Cristo Rey, Neal was a student Christian Leader and student ambassador. During his time in the CWSP, Neal worked at Travois and was able to continue his work during a few summers. Neal is majoring in secondary education.
John Dougherty is the Director of Technology Services for the Kansas City, KS-based nonprofit known as “Unbound”. His department is made up of two teams: the Development team and the Network Infrastructure team. These technicians manage all aspects of the company’s fully integrated hardware and software technology solutions. He has worked in the field of technology for over 35 years now. Unbound is an international nonprofit founded by lay Catholics grounded in the Gospel call to put the needs of the marginalized and vulnerable first. We build relationships of mutual respect and support that bridge cultural, religious, and economic divides. We invite all people of goodwill to join us. Working side by side with people of diverse faith traditions in 19 countries, we bring people together to challenge poverty in new and innovative ways. We inspire confidence while offering opportunity and encouragement to children and families living on the margins of society. We create practical and trustworthy means for people to help others and nurture human connections that uplift us all.
Dominick Lemus is a senior at Cristo Rey Kansas City. For the past three years he has interned at Unbound, working in the IT department. This year, he has been working both remote and on site due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Dominick has been interested in the IT field and will be attending MCC-Penn Valley in the fall with plans to transfer to Wichita State to study Exercise Science.
