Cristo Rey Kansas City provides a Catholic, college and career prep education enhanced by an innovative corporate work study program to culturally diverse, ambitious students with economic need. Through the program, students are provided real world job experience and able to earn nearly 50% of their tuition costs through working in entry level positions at Kansas City-area Sponsor companies. All program sponsors are instrumental in developing the talent pool of the future. Our students learn to work and to develop positive work habits that last a lifetime.

Panelists
Lisa Ginter is a celebrated leader in Kansas City as both the CEO of CommunityAmerica Credit Union and an influential figure in the business, civic and philanthropic community. Lisa has served in a leadership role at CommunityAmerica since she joined the organization in 1995 and became CEO in 2015. Lisa has been recognized as a Top 100 Financial Executives by the national Business Journal, a Power 100 honoree by the Kansas City Business Journal for multiple years, and named one of 435 South Magazine's 50 Most Powerful People in KC. Lisa's philanthropic leadership positions have advanced our community in a big way, and in the last five years alone, she has raised more than $6.5 million as an event chair for prominent KC charities. In her free time Lisa loves spending time with her family, including her granddaughters Ava and Emmie, relaxing at the lake, and cheering on local sports teams.
Kay Davis is the Program Coordinator, and a team member of the Corporate Work Study Program at Cristo Rey Kansas City. She holds 4 degrees: an Associate degree in Liberal Arts from Trenton College, a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Business Education from Rider University, and an Educational Specialist degree from UMKC in Administration of Higher Education. In addition, Kay completed post graduate course work in Human Resources at Webster University. She began her career as a Secondary Business Education teacher, taught at the university level, became the Director of Human Resources for Continental Health Care, the Rey Pec School District, and DST; and then as an entrepreneur, was the CEO of a small spice business. While working at DST as an HR consultant, Kay supervised twelve students annually for eight years. Currently, at Cristo Rey she is responsible for student workers, their sponsors and supervisors while contributing to identifying new corporate sponsors. Kay was born in Chicago, raised in New Jersey, moved to Kansas City; and has one daughter and two grandchildren.
Katie Studt specializes in end-to-end product development and product management for professional and commercial specialty liability insurance lines of business, focusing on operational efficiency, efficacy, compliance and transparency to stakeholders. A Kansas City native, she graduated the University of Kansas School of Law in 2007 and clerked for the Honorable Janice D. Russell at the Johnson County Courthouse before joining AXIS Insurance, where she currently works as a Director of Product Development and leads the Product Filings and Product Management teams. At AXIS, Katie is also a charter member of the Global D&I Council and the chair of her office's local Philanthropy Committee. Katie is a member of the Kansas Bar Association and on the planning committee for the local Media & the Law Seminar, an annual CLE conference sponsored by the University of Kansas School of Law and the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association. In 2020, she completed the Central Exchange Emerging Leaders program. Katie is a mother to two amazing, and very active, children, who along with her husband keep her life full of joy and laughter.
Taylar Brown is the Manager of Procurement and Project Delivery for the Mid-America Region at AdventHealth Shawnee Mission. Taylar holds two degrees from the University of Missouri, Political Science and International Studies, and a Multicultural Certificate. She began her career at Cerner, and more recently was the Lead EMR Support Specialist in AdventHealth Medical Group. In her current role, she Taylar is responsible for coordinating IT projects, including new technologies, upgrades, growth, and acquisitions. Taylar was born and raised in Kansas City. She is married and has one son, Mason.
