Join author Marcia Cebulska as she gives an interactive presentation about her humorous yet moving novel, WATCHING MEN DANCE, and how she created Ava, its spirited main character. Ava Paputsakis embodies a huge zest for life but struggles between her pull to adventure and her need for home and family. Ava's fascination with other cultures leads her to Jesse, a Makah Indian dancing on the streets of Seattle, and their marriage which reveals both a celebration of difference and a collision of goals. In "Creating the Adventurous Woman," Cebulska will discuss the evolution of her book, her own life experiences leading to its creation, and how the novel speaks to women. Cebulska encourages her readers to explore creative outlets and find the adventurous woman in each of us. The author will read a few short excerpts, create a dialogue with the audience, and respond to questions.
