Speaker Bios
Michelle Poston CFP® has spent the last 15 years doing what she LOVES. Her passion is to help people through financial planning to reach their dreams and goals. She does this by helping her clients manage, prioritize, and strategize their financial life. This allows her clients to focus on what matters most to them. Legacy planning is a key part of her planning process. There are many options for passing on your wealth. She helps clients talk through their wishes and strategizes on how to implement a plan of action to achieve these goals. Keeping ease of portability and tax efficiency top of mind.
Kirsten Schroeder Larsen is a graduate of UMKC School of Law. She opened her first practice in Brookside, right after graduation in 1996. After a hiatus to stay home with her family and a brief stint at a firm practicing administrative law, she opened Schroeder Larsen Law in 2013. The practice is focused on educating real people in Kansas and Missouri about the importance of estate planning. While avoiding legalese as much as possible, she works to demystify the different planning options available to help her clients meet their goals. She also helps a small number of clients with the implementation of their plan when the time comes and the administration of the estate.
Lisa Niser has been doing taxes for 25 years, first with Big Four accounting firms and for the past 18 years, on her own. She is often told she is not "the typical accountant" and that her warm, judgement-free style makes dealing with taxes a lot more enjoyable. Lisa works with individuals, families, and small business owners from all walks of life, taking time to listen, to ask questions and to help clients understand how taxes in a way that won't make their brain hurt. Her goal is not to make clients into tax experts but rather to create awareness so they can make decisions that fit their priorities and move them towards meeting or maintaining their goals.
Amy Woods Butler is a professional life story writer who helps individuals and families preserve their memories and stories in heirloom-quality books. With her memoir-writing service, The Story Scribe, she works with a team of editors, writers, transcriptionists, and designers to produce custom books that allow families to pass down memories from one generation to the next. She also hosts and produces The Life Story Coach, a podcast for aspiring and established professionals in the field of personal history
