VIRTUAL PROGRAM | Sewing Our Way Toward Employment and Entrepreneurship
The Sewing Labs is a community learning center that teaches basic and industrial sewing toward employment and entrepreneurship. Our mission is to inspire hope in vulnerable populations of individuals marginalized by generational poverty, addiction, immigration and incarceration. The Sewing Labs also offers classes ranging from machine basics to quilting, embroidery, garments, mending, cos-play costuming to fiber arts. We are uniquely positioned and partnered with employers seeking trained sewists.
Together we will...
- Create: Strengthen individuals, give them a voice and power of self-expression.
- Inspire: Encourage innovation, problem solving, confidence, and entrepreneurship.
- Thrive: Remove barriers.
Eileen Bobowski is the new Executive Director with The Sewing Labs in Kansas City. Originally from Chicago, Eileen came to Kansas City to direct an area in the Creative Division at Hallmark Cards. After successfully leading her team through growth and innovation, Eileen entered the nonprofit sector serving several organizations of local and national prominence
