Struggling to feel heard—or to reach the person you’re caring for? That gap in understanding can be deeply painful.
In this 1-hour talk, you’ll be introduced to one foundational (yet often overlooked) communication skill that can ease frustration and support a more connected relationship.
It’s not a magic fix—but it can help you listen in a way that brings more clarity, calm, and care into your daily interactions.
Note: There will be breakout rooms, but if you can’t participate, just let us know in the chat.
Dr. Laura Janusik is a dementia educator, communication coach, and listening researcher. Drawing from her five years as a caregiver to her mother, she now helps caregivers of those with cognitive decline build more meaningful relationships with the people they support.
A leading authority on listening worldwide, she combines an MBA and a PhD in Communication, with specialties in listening and brain research, to explain what’s happening in the brain and how to connect through practical, research-based strategies. Her approach reduces caregiver frustration while helping the person with brain impairment feel truly heard and understood.
Her work has been featured in Forbes, Harvard Business Review, The Wall Street Journal, NPR, US News & World Report, and numerous academic journals.
