Sunita Lavin earned her B.S. in Computer Engineering, M.S. in Electrical Engineering, and M.B.A. from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. At Garmin, she was a Design Certification Engineer for cockpits for airplanes then she worked as a Senior Project Manager for consumer products. Sunita started at Burns & McDonnell as an IT Section Manager and led the deployment of over 500 videoconference rooms worldwide. She is now an Assistant Department Manager and Project Engineer working on telecommunications for the utility industry. Sunita is a tireless advocate for women in the STEM fields and an active leader in Society of Women Engineers (SWE), where she is Co-Lead of the Latinos Affinity Group. She was a member of Centurions - Class of 2018, and a recipient of the Athena Young Professional Leadership Award for her involvement in local efforts to improve education and participation in STEM professions. She is married to Peter and has 2 bunnies named Chewy and Rooby.
