In Kansas City, Honeywell Federal Manufacturing & Technologies (FM&T) manages and operates the U.S. Department of Energy/National Nuclear Security Administration’s (NNSA) Kansas City National Security Campus. Summary
Provides a broad range of Finance/Accounting services. In support of strategic objectives, this position interacts with FM&T leaders & NNSA Finance counterparts, to resolve related business issues.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Functions at advanced level by planning, organizing, and coordinating accounting and/or budget activities to meet established objectives and schedules, including analysis of reports, journal entries and other data.
- Anticipates business needs and develops analytical data to support decision making.
- Implements initiatives in partnership with business leaders in support of the organization's strategic objectives. Guides business to establish budget and overhead rate targets with the ability to communicate with leadership.
- Perform special assignments or assigns projects and provides results to management.
- Leads the development and maintenance of internal procedures and work instructions for accounting and/or budget activities.
- Uses financial reporting, customized as necessary to support division, programs, and/or overhead rate analysis requirements.
- Provides proactive support in budget process, resource planning process, variance analysis and forecasting. Leverages an understanding of inter-relationships between fund accounting, divisional labor, and expenses to influence and provide guidance to stakeholders.
- Advises business stakeholders on the financial implications of strategies and tactics. Attends functional staff meetings, establishing and maintaining effective customer relationships.
- Assists in the training of personnel in various accounting and/or budget activities.
- Manages multiple ad hoc requests in a timely manner.
- Helps ensure a sound internal control environment exists by highlighting potential risks.
- Serves as a liaison to management in the absence of supervision.

You Must Have
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related field and a minimum 5 years of Finance or Accounting experience; or 2 additional years of experience in lieu of a degree.
- Ability to travel as determined by the needs of the business.
- Ability to work remote, hybrid, or on-site as directed by management and is determined by the needs of the business.
- United States Citizenship
- Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job.
- Ability to obtain and maintain, if required for position, a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations)
