Dr. Cheryl Cooper, a US Naval Veteran, holds a Doctorate in Computer Science and Information Assurance. She is a Cybersecurity Thought Leader, Author, Speaker, and former Business Information Security Officer with 25 years of service with a major fortune 50 company.
As President of Women in Security (WiCyS) for greater Kansas City metroplex organization she promotes mentoring and encourages women and minorities to pursue careers in STEM through training, mentoring, workshops and summits.
Empowerment through choice is not the only theme in her book or presentations. Frustrated by the lack of engagement from those who could be role models and mentors for the young people in her community led to her formation of her non-profit. She will be what she didn’t see and will pass the baton of empowerment to those who can run with it to thrive.
