Leads the Company’s overall trade partner prequalification process.  Partners with operations, preconstruction, and estimating teams to develop, implement and track consistent risk management procedures.  Develops relationships with trade partner relationships and procedures. Provides trade partner qualification process training to associates.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
 

Underwriting and Insurance

  • Oversees day-to-day management and valuation of Subcontractor Default Insurance (SDI).

  • Analyzes and understands appropriate SDI rates for new markets.

  • Assists with the management and administration of subcontractor default claims.

  • Oversees trade partner selection and risk management.


Prequalification

  • Works with industry partners to develop subcontractor prequalification best practices and underwriting strategies.

  • Establishes minimum standards for trade partner prequalification and ensures consistent application across all business units.

  • Develops adaptable prequalification process for multiple project types and geographies including hard bid scenarios, rural projects, and design build.

 

Trade Partner Risk Management

  • Evaluates trade partner capacity and competency against a proposed scope of work.

  • Develops metrics to consistently measure trade partner performance and quality.

  • Works with project team to understand local markets, including trade strengths and weaknesses.

  • Evaluates trade partner backlog against upcoming bid opportunities and existing project schedules.

  • Reviews trade partner financial statements to determine financial stability and capacity.

 

Communication and Training

  • Discusses expectations, finances, and all other prequalification communications with trade partners.

  • Provides trade partner qualification process training to associates.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (minimum requirements before going into job)

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field. 

  • General knowledge of accounting and the ability to analyze financial statements.

  • Database management.

  • Thorough understanding of trade partner exposures.

  • Good written & communication skills.

  • Construction industry experience preferred.
