DT | When to Consider Dementia Care with Arlin Bohn
This will be an in-depth discussion of the considerations around specialized dementia care. We will cover what differentiates specialized care from "non-dementia specific" settings, common triggers for consideration of specialized care settings and the importance of transition planning to ease adjustment issues. Take-aways include being able to characterize the importance of transition planning for people living with dementia and how to strategize ways to reduce adjustment issues.
About the Presenter
Arlin Bohn is currently Executive Director of Brookdale College Square. He has been serving in long term care for 20 years. Many of those years have been working with older adults who have dementia. He also has experience in skilled nursing, assisted living, geri-psych settings and providing outpatient treatment to older adults. Arlin has a Master's of Social Work Degree (MSW) and LSCSW in the state of Kansas. He is a certified operator in the state of Kansas since 2000. He and his family reside in Olathe, KS.
