Women in STEMMis a Central Exchange movement designed to put a well-deserved spotlight on women in Kansas City working in the fields of science, technology, engineering, math, and medicine (STEMM). By focusing on successful STEMM leaders, WiSTEMM hopes to draw attention to the resource shortfall in these careers, provide inspiration for those pursuing STEMM careers, and help create retention of women currently in STEMM careers.

Join us for our quarterly WiSTEMM "Wine Down" Happy Hours! The goal for this quarterly gathering is to create a space to cultivate relationships and inspire connections in our STEMM community. Each quarter there is a different discussion-based topic.
On Wednesday, January 25th from 4:00 - 5:30 PM, join us at ProActive Solutions to network with other women and attend an informative session on self-defense practices and survivor services. Our host,Tina Richard, owner of KC COBRA, is an instructor of C.O.B.R.A.™ Self-defense System with over 18 years of martial arts experience. Tina will be sharing her tips for situational awareness, how to recognize a threat, and what the next move should be. Tina will demonstrate various defense stances, strikes and kicks, and an action vs reaction demo.
This session is intended for all age groups, physical abilities, and women who are currently in or interested in STEMM careers.
